Here is a Dates for the Diary letter for the coming months as we have some exciting things planned for the summer. At the bottom we also have included a calendar sharing what is coming up at a glance.
YFORY
We are coming to an end of our first year of the Yfory project where we have asked 3 groups of young people across south wales (Mess Up The Mess, Rising Stars and Taking Flight) “what does your future look like?” “What do you want to change about it?” where we are creating sharing’s for family, friends, decision makers and more to come and see.
Rising Stars Sharing – On Thursday 7th July Rising Stars will be doing their sharing in Swansea. We will be providing a bus to go see leaving around 6.15pm and arriving back at 8.45pm ish. Spaces will be limited. It will be offered to the Yfory MUTM group first and then to anyone else who wishes to attend. Spaces will be limited and it will replace drama session.
Mess Up The Mess Yfory – On Sunday 10th July it will be the last session before the sharing for those who have been part of the Yfory sessions. 10-4pm in the Pensioners Hall Ammanford.
Mess Up The Mess Yfory Sharing – On Thursday 16th July Mess Up The Mess Yfory young people will be doing their sharing in Pontardawe Arts Centre. We will be providing a bus to go see leaving around 6.30pm and arriving back at 8.30pm. Spaces will be limited. I will be offered to anyone else who wishes to attend. Spaces will be limited and it will replace drama session.
Cwmni Yfory – on the 23rd 24th and 25th July Yfory young people from MUTM, Rising Stars and Taking Flight will come together in Merthyr Tydfil to create a group sharing on the final day to share what they all want to change about young people’s future. Bus will be transporting young people to and from Merthyr Tydfil.
EXTRA OPPORTUNTIES THROUGH THE SUMMER
26th – 28th July 4.30 – 6.30pm there will be Mask making and mask performing sessions run by Mess Up The Mess in Pontardawe Arts Centre. This will replace drama sessions that week.
15th – 19th August 10-4pm will be a week of fun called CREATIVE ESCAPES – Made by you! Where we will be developing our ideas of our Winter show (happening in Dec). The wonderful Flossy and Boo Theatre Company (Anja Conti and Laura Jeffs) will be helping us come up with ideas for the show and listen to the idea of the young people of Mess Up The Mess. There will be devising, Sound and Music, Set and Costume Design, Stage Management and Game Theatre. This will be held at Pontardawe Art Centre. This will replace drama sessions that week.
29th – 4th Sept – There will be no drama sessions as the staff will be on a planning week. Starting back as normal on the 5th Sept 2022.
Peer Leader – SAVE THE DATES
If you are 16+ and interested in taking a stronger role in supporting other young people or leading activities. We have Peer Leader Residential Training happening during half term Wednesday 2nd Oct till Saturday 5th Oct 2022. This is completely free, from travel to accommodation and food.
Winter Show – SAVE THE DATES
We are excited to create our next show with you all. We are planning in our winter show will be on the 9th till the 11th Dec 2022 this year.
