Queertawe is running February – July with another 6 months full of FREE creative activity for the LGBTQ+ communities of Swansea and surrounding areas.
We are excited to be bringing some new people into the facilitation team as well as continuing to work with some of the wonderful creatives from 2024.

Here is a brief overview of the team this year
Cassidy Smith, Community Producer. (she/they)
Cassidy has been working in the arts in South Wales since 2017 with a background in youth theatre and facilitating arts projects within community settings . Cassidy will be present at all Queertawe workshops and is there to support you, you can’t miss her with her brightly coloured hair!
Cerian Hedd, Lead Artist & Cabaret Facilitator (they/them)
Cerian Hedd is a community artist, facilitator and clown. They’re a cofounder and host of Queer Clown Cabaret, an alternative cabaret supporting emerging acts. Cerian regularly performs as a clown and runs performance workshops in cabaret, devising and clowning!
Bethan Marlow, Lead Artist (she/they)
Bethan is a Welsh speaking queer from a small village in North Wales. They are known as a writer that creates fictional worlds with real voices and works with and within easy to ignore communities across Wales. Bethan will be facilitating some online sessions around being a queer creative.
Cj Ashen, Movement Facilitator (they/them)
C J Ashen is best known for their confident, peacockish physicality and acrobatic style. They have a playful and intuitive improvisation with their fellow performers which is used to devise performances which feel like interactive games between the artist and the audience.
Sophie Eleanor, Visual Arts Facilitator (she/her)
Sophie Eleanor is a queer, multimedia artist, designer, and printmaker based in Swansea. Her practice merges diverse creative disciplines, emphasizing community and art wellbeing. Sophie’s work explores the transformative power of creativity, fostering inclusive spaces for artistic expression and connection through workshops, collaborative projects, and printmaking techniques.
Rachel Dawson, Creative Writing Facilitator (she/her)
Rachel Dawson is from Swansea and lives in Cardiff. Her debut novel, Neon Roses, was published by John Murray Press in 2023. She is working on a second novel exploring queer parenthood and a love for history.
